Digital Design in the Age of Sustainability

The internet has a tangible ecological footprint. Physical networks and servers consume energy—as does their cooling.

Every use, such as loading text or video content, generates CO2. The IT sector is responsible for 3.9% of global emissions—comparable to the footprint of South Korea or Germany.

TAMMERLE's Objective

The objective of TAMMERLE in relaunching the website tammerle.it was to design a sustainable and energy-efficient platform that also offers a simple and optimal user experience.

Carbon Rating A

The website tammerle.it was tested using the Website Carbon Calculator and received a CO2 rating of A, making it cleaner than 90% of all websites worldwide.

Only 0.10 g of CO2 are emitted per page view, thanks to a systematically energy-efficient site structure.
